DEFINATION - Library classification is the arranging of things according to likeness and unlikeness. It is the sorting and grouping of things, but in addition, classification of books is a knowledge classification with adjustments made necessary by the physical form of books.

From the dictionary - Library classification is the arrangement of library materials in a systematic way, usually by subject matter, using a classification system such as the Dewey Decimal Classification or the Library of Congress Classification. (Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2023)

Conclusion - Library classification is the foundation of knowledge organization in libraries. It is the intellectual process of arranging library materials in a hierarchical and structured manner, reflecting the relationships between different subjects and disciplines. Library classification systems serve as a bridge between users and information, enabling them to navigate the vast collection of resources efficiently and effectively.
