Library Classification or Classification or Book Classification or Bibliographic Classification is the process of arranging, grouping, coding, and organizing books and other library materials those are serials, sound recordings, moving images, cartographic materials, manuscripts, computer files, e-resources etc.

Encyclopedia :

 Library classification is the systematic arrangement of library materials by subject matter, using a classification system such as the Dewey Decimsl Classification or the library of congress classification (Encyclopedia Britannia. 2023)

Dictionary:

Library classification is the act or process of assigning categories or labels to library materials in order to organize them systematically. The arrangement of books on shelves, or description of them, in the manner which is most useful to those who read.
